Saskia and Jan-Michael Färber hand-roast single-origin coffees in 1 kg batches from their micro-roastery in Bad Nauheim.

The Färbers took roasting courses together and began experimenting with raw beans at home, learning to read roasting curves and dial in flavour profiles batch by batch. Friends tried the coffee. Then friends started asking for bags. When the smoke from the garage became a problem, they rented a small space nearby. Their online shop launched in September 2025.
Both still work full-time jobs. They roast on evenings, weekends, and during parental leave. The bureaucratic side took longer than expected: customs clearance, coffee tax, registering the roastery. They started the paperwork in mid-2025 and are still building the business around their day jobs.

cræft.studio sources single-origin coffees through direct-trade partners. BRUN is an espresso from Peru. RIKA is a filter coffee from Brazil. LUMA comes from Colombia. KASA is their signature blend. Every batch is roasted by hand on a 1 kg micro-roaster, which is currently pushing against its limits as B2B orders grow.
For local customers in Bad Nauheim, they run a reusable-packaging subscription with free doorstep delivery: no shipping waste, just coffee in a jar that comes back.
This is a micro-roastery you can watch grow. From autumn 2026, the Färbers plan to open a space in Bad Nauheim for espresso service, workshops, and events like yoga paired with pour-over. They have already tested the format at camper meetups with their "Slow Coffee unterwegs" workshops. Their own ceramics are in the works too.
For now, it is four coffees, roasted 1 kg at a time, by two people who learned the craft because they wanted better coffee for themselves.
