Some brands take years to find their voice. Atuvera is not one of them. Irene Civera, the founder, is in her early twenties, and the brand only launched its debut collection, The Roots, in April 2025. But in the conversation we had, both came across as already knowing what they were about. A little nervous, yes, in the way anyone is at the start of something real. But underneath that, a clarity about what she is building that you don't often see this early.

The name itself says something. Atuvera is a combination of Irene's surname and her admiration for Spanish folklore. She's originally from Valencia, developed the brand during two years living in Barcelona while working at La Manso, and now moves between the two cities. That geography is not incidental. The Mediterranean light, the pace, the warmth of southern Spain, all of it feeds directly into the brand's DNA.

The core proposition is simple and hard to argue with: design and comfort, coexisting. Atuvera takes fabrics usually associated with sportswear or casualwear and elevates them into considered pieces. Natural materials, conscious production, 100% made in Spain. The customer she has in mind is someone who wants to feel good in what they wear without sacrificing how it looks. That's a wider audience than most brands admit.

What stayed with me after talking to Irene was the combination of openness and confidence. She's building something in public for the first time, and she knows it. But the vision is clear: a brand rooted in Spanish identity, in comfort, in authenticity. Not trend-driven, not mass-produced. Something with character that you connect with. Atuvera feels like a beginning worth following.
